Life Update

Well, it’s been quite a while since I posted last, and I still have so many stories to share from Cameroon…But there always seems to be something to hinder me from posting. So, thank you for your patience and keep waiting for more (including more pictures at my picture site).

For now, I will deviate with a quick update of where God has placed me for the school year: at the Colorado School of Mines. I struggle so much at times simply desiring to be somewhere else in the world helping people and sharing the gospel that I miss taking advantages of opportunities God gives me every day to share His joyous news and the testimony of His working in my life. The Lord is using me in so many amazing ways here at Mines through leadership with both the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and American Society of Civil Engineers chapters, but I must share with you how He is also using me through my Senior Design project.

Just over a week ago, I formally requested three of my top project choices for Senior Design, with my top choice being a water/wastewater project for a school/orphanage in Uganda, East Africa. And, God gifted me with the privilege of being on the team of five students for the Maranatha Primary School project in Uganda! I’m very excited about the possibility of traveling to Africa again, and I’m even more excited about this project now after meeting with the Ugandan man who runs the school/orphanage. While he was here in Denver, Patrick related the school’s needs for water and treatment at our first contact meeting. Patrick also pointed out that there are actually three schools, all sponsored by churches, that minister to over 300 children who are mostly orphans.

I’m eager to learn more about the ministry in Uganda, as well as to assist in this project for which I am even receiving college credit! I couldn’t have asked for a better Senior Design project, and this continues to confirm God’s calling in my life to be a career missionary engineer (probably in Africa). I’ve included a picture of some of the kids at the school below. Please pray for them, for Patrick and his wife, for my Senior Design team, and for everyone affected by this project. May God receive all of the glory!

“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.
“Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.
“Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name.
